American-Palestinian Youth Released After Nine Months in Israeli Custody

An American-Palestinian teenager who spent 270 days in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention this past winter in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care right after being freed, according to close relatives.

Family described him as pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

Via family representatives, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "tremendous relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he requires after being subjected to Israel's abuse and inhumane conditions over several months."

The state department announced ongoing to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership has no higher priority than the safety and security for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to US authorities and the White House, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, learning information solely what had happened to him in detention through court documents.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.

Additionally housing mature inmates, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and murder.

Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, as well as the United Nations, say some have suffered abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.
