BF6 Players Are Convinced: Tasks Are Overly Demanding

The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with significant enthusiasm, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, many players are protesting against some of the game's hardest challenges, which are required to unlock specific weapons.

Players have started turning to custom matches made via the Portal feature to complete them, highlighting just how demanding these missions have become.

Comprehending BF6 Tasks

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four categories of assignments, but while the majority simply offer outfits and select equipment, finishing the gun missions is the exclusive means of acquiring twelve from the forty-one primary weapons present in the game.

Some of these gated guns could shortly find their way on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Community Frustration on Reddit

Within Reddit, players are justifiably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious a number of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This mission is so awful and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

Additionally, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and only works at extremely close range, which is seldom the location you want to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.

Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge

Another Reddit user brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to obtain the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons

This is tough enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at those extended distances.

There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.

The Workaround

However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on whatever map you choose, including AI opponents. This allows you can cheese the system… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.

However, when doing the challenges in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that offers no advantage to anyone, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Upcoming Tweaks

It is expected if some of these assignments are made easier in the next few updates, because if they're not, some players simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.

For now, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these strenuous battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
