The Music Icon Plays a Twisted Persona of Her Own Identity in Mockumentary First Look

Charli XCX is gearing up for a substantial cinematic appearance in 2026, beginning with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

Within the project, the artist portrays what she refers to as a twisted version of her public image.

It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music business that I’ve ever encountered, the star remarked.

She further explained in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, yet the concept originated from the pressure to produce one.

A Glimpse into The Moment

The debut trailer, unveiled on recently, blends real clips from her recent tour with fictionalized behind-the-scenes moments.

The Moment is helmed and co-scripted by the director, who revealed that the plot centers on a world where the artist took completely different paths throughout the marketing of her smash hit album Brat.

The mockumentary is a single one of numerous future film appearances for Charli, who has starred in three independent movies in the current year.

Upcoming Projects

The following year will also see the star alongside Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

She also joined to feature in the star’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also see the release of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from the artist.

She is also set to provide music for the film Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released in the coming year.

The film is scheduled to debut on January 30.
