Kai Trump can count on numerous well-known cheerleaders as she begins her LPGA debut later this week.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, operates multiple courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially advised me to compete and enjoy myself," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there this weekend. He's busy with running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in only three events this year and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she can get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He is the top athlete globally," Kai stated.
"And he's an even better person. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
Kai will face multiple the biggest names in professional golf at the competition, featuring world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that involving Kai exposes golf to new audiences, especially with the next generation.
The young star has substantial online presence and has started a personal apparel and wellness brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
