Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
